Search Management Consultations

If you cannot afford to deploy the Search Dogs, I highly recommend a Search Management  Consultation.  The cost is $150 for a lost dog and $120 for a lost cat.  This includes a Lost Dog/Cat Guide which is invaluable.  Most of the information in this Guide can NOT be found on the internet.

I profile your lost pet scenario, look at satellite view maps and discuss in-depth   techniques that fit your lost pet case.  It is extremely effective.

You can also buy the Lost Dog Guide for $50 or the Lost Cat Guide for $40.  I want to make it affordable for everyone to find their pet!
I also give "On-Site" consultations in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas regarding information about tools to coyote-proof your yard.  Most people think that a predator can not or would not penetrate their yard.

With the fires and the population increase in So. CA, the wildlife is being pushed more and more into the residential areas. Coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats and owls will prey on unsuspecting pets, even large dogs.

Over and over again I get calls that pets have suddenly disappeared from yards and I come to find out that the yards are NOT secured.  There are many things you can do to protect your pets (and even small children and babies)...

The cost is $200 for one hour.
Giant  poster and banner placement:   I am available for this service in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas.   The cost is $400 plus supplies (about $170).

Includes:

- Profile of your lost pet scenario,
- Placing forty (40) giant neon posters with large legal size pictures of your pet at key intersections
-Placement of three (3) giant homemade banners with life size pictures of your pet
-Meeting in person with you after I finish hanging the posters/banners
-Supplying pictures of the posters/banners via email
-Answering questions
-Going over techniques when answering phone calls regarding any "sightings" (imperative)
- Lost Cat or Dog Guide (invaluable)

I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO ME . . . . IT DID !

I have owned cats my whole life.  The last thing I expected to happen was to have my cat jump over the fence and not come back. .
I had moved into a new place about 8 months before.  My cat, Junior, had never been out of the yard, although he liked to walk along the top of the fence.
One evening he jumped over the fence to chase a cat and got into a fight.  I went outside and couldn't find him, and was so positive he would come back, I went to bed.

Well, he never showed up.  The next day I walked around the neighborhood calling his name.  I was certain that if he heard me he would appear.   HE DID NOT.  He always came running to me when I called him at home.  . And I am certain he heard me because one week later he was found in the backyard of a neighbor - 7 houses down the street!

The first day I made flyers and distributed them to all the houses around my block and many houses across the street.  I put them up on telephone poles.  I posted an ad on craigslist.  I checked the two shelters closest to me.  Every night and morning I walked around the neighborhood calling his name.  After 5 days I was an emotional wreck.
I happened upon Landa's site through another site that someone on craigslist had sent me. I called to hire her, however, she was booked in the next three days.

In the interim she gave me a phone consultation.  She made suggestions I had never even thought of.   I "begrudgingly" followed her advice and stayed up the rest of the night working on some suggestions she made.  Over the next day and a half I followed what she told me to do.  You have to realize that at this point I was sure he was long gone or dead.  I was sure I had done everything to find Junior!  I was physically exhausted from lack of sleep from searching and working a full time job, but Landa was very encouraging (while everyone else around me was not!)

Well, two days later due to following Landa's advice..... I got the call I had been waiting for!!  Junior had been located!!! He had lost weight and was completely filthy - but he was alive!!!  When I showed up to retrieve him, he ran from me when I called his name.  ALL THE THINGS I THOUGHT MY CAT WOULD NOT DO, HE DID  ----- JUST LIKE LANDA HAD TOLD ME!!!

If it hadn't been for Landa's persistence and encouragement, I'm not sure I would have found Jr.

Re:  LOST CAT/PHONE CONSULTATION
       October 2007

Thank you so much for the informative phone sessions. And thank you for responding to my initial voicemail so quickly.

I had felt much better and more hopeful after talking with
you both.   I waited till the rain had stopped around midnight and went out for one more walk through of the apartment complex in
search of Keighty. About five minutes into my walk I heard
a couple of faint meows close by each time I called out her
name. She was crouching behind the bushes (if she hadn't
meowed, I would not have located her as she was completely
out of sight), drenched and freezing from the cold. I got
her back seemingly safe and sound!!!! She will be seeing a
Vet in the near future to make sure she hadn't caught
anything undesirable while she was roaming outdoors for
more than 28 hours, and to get microchipped. I am also
looking into installing a gate to better block the front
door.

Thank you both again for the prepping and consultation.
I owe you so much!!!!   Without your concern,
empathy, and helpful talks, especially the part about lost
pets having been recovered even weeks after they had gone
missing, I probably wouldn't have made that last walk
through. I'll be telling my friends about your website and
services. I am extremely happy to have my kitty back.

Best Regards,

PHONE CONSULTATION/July 2006
DISPLACED CAT FOUND AFTER BEING LOST FOR TWO  MONTHS, MANY MILES FROM HOME

Landa...I have some GREAT news!  I found my missing cat Snowie.. You consulted with me via a phone consultation in July regarding Snowie who I lost in Ft. Lauderdale during a vet visit (she got loose in the cage in the car).  You gave me such great advice, and I followed all of it ........and it worked!

It was a joyful day on Saturday!! Due to your advice, some strategic and crafty detective work, a lot of patience and persistence and the help of some very nice people,---my two month long search has been successful.

Snowie is now reunited with me in my home.  She is healthy, safe and sound. What a blessing! Even tho’ the odds were against us —being that we lost her many miles away from home and that she is so shy with unfamiliar people........

Snowie was found four blocks from where she was lost.  Thank you for your concern and support through this process.  Please share in this pay off — it is a significant one.  Jill Goermar (phone number provided upon request)

Yes, I do think the phone consultation was very helpful.  First, you gave Christie hope.  She was at a loss as what to do when Winston turned up missing.  You gave her ideas that helped her be more proactive.  Keeping busy helped her feel better that she had done everything she could to try to rescue Winston. She was too agitated to think straight at that point.

She also rented a humane cat trap, and had a beautiful dream about Winston sitting outside the cat trap the night before his body was found.  She felt like that was a sign from God that Winston was free.  (Gone to a better place.) That same night I had a dream about 2 beautiful angels in bright blue dresses carrying Winston away to heaven.  I know it sounds weird.  I told Christie about it, and she said 'angels don't wear bright blue'. Then some random lady gave Christie a book about pet loss.  Inside was a picture of 2 angels wearing bright blue dresses.

I think all your ideas kept Christie from really panicking.  Also, you were both very kind, and the story that you shared about your cat was very comforting to her.

Honestly, I would say you and Annalisa were a God-send, and helped Christie in ways we probably don't even know about, beside the things I mentioned.

Thanks again for everything.

Janet

Hi Landa,

Unfortunately no good news to report.  We have had a few sightings and get about 5 calls a day but most are at least a day old or not Sena.

I know your consultation helped us.  People never would have been made aware of this situation if it hadn't been for you.  I hope that we will be able to call you very soon and tell you we found her.

Kind Regards,
Heidi

UPDATE:  SENA FOUND!!!  LOST NINE DAYS!

Landa;
An older couple found Sena wandering about 20 miles away from her home today (10/18/09) at a Target parking lot, and although she was scared, they were able to lure her behind the store to their home.  They happened to be looking in the newspaper under the LOST ads, and saw my ad and immediately called..
We surmise she had been dropped off in that lot due to several factors that happened over the course of the 9 days..
We'll tell you all about it...Heidi

A phone consultation helped me find my cat Rusty in December of 2007.  I continue to tell people about you and your web site - you did so much for me!  I have not forgotten you!  Thanks!!!

Camilla the cat lost 35 days in a snow storm in Michigan......comes home on own!

I am VERY happy to report that Camilla came home about an hour ago!!! She has a limp, but she appears in good condtion. She seems a little skiddish, but when I saw her she came right to me so she was glad to be home! She seemed hungry and has lost some weight for sure, but she must have been eating something because she wasn't as skinny as I thought she would be being gone this long! I want to thank you for your guidance and reassurance. I never gave up on her and you didn't either. Your phone consultation and the Lost Cat Guide was very helpful and it gave me a clear plan of action to follow. It's nice to know that there are others out there concerned for the animals' wellbeing.

Here's a pictue I just took of her. I will see how she is doing with her limp and all tomorrow morning because she may need to see the vet. I'm also looking into ways to prevent this from happening again. Good luck to you in your searches!

Landa - Here's the advertising we used after we consulted with you.  I'm also  going to send you a map with the location where we found him - exactly where you predicted he might be! We walked the neighborhood and passed out the fliers and talked to passersby and asked to look in people's backyards, and then we started getting calls with sightings! It was really fantastic. We never could have been so focused without your guidance. Thomas seems to be doing great. He's meowing a lot, but I think that's because he's glad to be back. He's coming up to me and wanting to be petted way more than he used to. Our other cat, Moonlight, who meowed painfully to let us know when he was first missing, is acting a little angry. I think she's upset by all the dog smells on him. Neighbors reported that they saw him get into a fight with another cat, so he probably has different cat smells on him, too.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thomas is an Indoor Only cat that had been missing for 11 DAYS when the owners first consulted with me. THERE WERE NO LEADS.

Three days after my consultation, Thomas was home!!

HARLEY
Harly escaped from the front yard with no ID tags or microchip.  He was seen being picked up about one block away.

THERE WERE NO OTHER LEADS FOR FIVE DAYS UNTIL AFTER THE OWNER DID THE SEARCH CONSULTATION WITH ME.

The woman who picked him up called me around 2 in the afternoon yesterday at work!!! i cant get harley though til saturday because this lady had to go to a seminar in san diego and took harley with her. she said there was no one to take care of him at home so she took him with her. oh, and she also sent me a picture so i can verify if the dog she has was harley and it was!

im very very happy to finally locate him. i cant wait to be with harley again this weekend.

thanks again for all the help. none of this will be possible without your guidance and words of encouragement.  I can finally sleep!

I was visiting a friend’s house on a Friday afternoon with my puppy Ronnie.  He was out of my sight for no more than a minute.  Upon searching the yard, I found a small hole. As soon I realized he was missing, an all out dog hunt began with 15 of my closest friends and family. Ronnie had vanished. We looked that day for 6 hours and began the search again the following morning at 5:30 am. That day we searched all day and had a huge support group that helped us hang between 600-700 8.5” x 11” signs throughout the neighborhood, including main streets surrounding the neighborhood. Because of these signs and all the people hanging them, a buzz was created in the neighborhood. When I went to hang signs in the late afternoon that day, a woman approached me to tell me about Landa and her amazing ability to help people find their dogs. However, there were no calls about Ronnie.

I immediately called Landa and set up an appointment with her for the following morning. On our over hour-long call, Landa laid out the blueprint for finding my Ronnie. It was with her amazing guidance and specifics of what needed to be done that brought my baby home!

By day four  (with Landa's techniques in place) Ronnie was back in my arms. A family from out of the neighborhood had found him and driven back in the neighborhood for work.  This was a truly trying yet magical experience. Landa is at the top of the Pet Detective Game. She was honest, straight-forward and willing to work with me throughout the entire process until Ronnie was safely returned home. Thank you, Landa. You changed my life!!!!!!

SAMSON IS HOME!
Tue 6/22/10 10:04 AM

A girl picked him up two weeks ago a block away from my home.  She ended up giving him to her grandmother's friend in Santa Fe Springs, over 20 miles away!  I WANT TO THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH for EVERYTHING!!!

It  was as if you guys predicted everything that was going to happen!  Your search consultation was invaluable!! I couldn't have done it without you two.  It was exhausting, though.

Is there a comments page on your website? I want to write a testimonial about your encouragement through this process.
